The Clyde Model Dockyard was founded in 1789 to produce model ships for the Admiralty and, by the early 20th century, had evolved into a well-known hobby and model shop situated in the heart of Glasgow. For years, it produced model boats and sold accessories for the modelling hobby before it sadly closed down in the early ‘70s.

Refounded in 2001, and then left dormant for 22 years, the name has now been reacquired with the intention of reviving the name into a manufacturer of high-quality models and kits.
